There are two options in FEM Builder that control the way graphics are drawn: Microsoft GDI and OpenGL.  The Microsoft GDI driver uses older technology to draw to the screen.  It will work well for planar and axisymmetric models, but for three-dimensional models, the drawing does not look right.  Faces are not being drawn in the correct z-order, so it just looks wrong.


To switch to the OpenGL graphics driver, select Tools -> Options from the FEM Builder menu and select the Display Tab.  There is a group box on the top that allows you to select the graphics driver you want.  See image of Options dialog and the Display tab below.  We recommend that you use the OpenGL graphics driver in all cases.
