Advanced Search Format

An advanced search contains a special portion of filters beyond the name of an item. If you are looking for a Process with a particular Design Cycle, for example, use the advanced search format to apply that restriction.

Title of an Item Goes Here

";Filter1=Value;Filter2=Value" Title of an Item Goes Here

If the difference is not immediately apparent, the advanced search is prepended with a set of special filters in quotes. At the beginning of each filter title is a semicolon to denote a new filter. Then, an equals sign assigns a value to that filter. Take a look at this example query of the Processes table:

";cycle=pdr;org=scientific methods;cost=31xx" test

The portion of the search outside the advanced search terms still functions the same way; "test" will return items whose names contain test. The difference is that ";cycle=pdr" will also filter out items that do not have the "Preliminary Design Review" Design Cycle assigned. Similarly, ";org=scientific methods" will filter out items that do not have "Scientific Methods" in the Responsible Organization name, and ";cost=31xx" will behave similarly but using cost center instead, filtering out items whose Responsible Organization does not begin with 31. For brevity, the filter keywords are shorthanded as shown here.

Note that advanced searches are only supported on Processes.

Search terms are NOT case-sensitive.
