Chemical files contain definitions of ingredients and mixtures that Chemics uses to simplify defining Systems. The purpose of the site file is to contain a standard set of ingredients and mixtures that are to be used throughout a company. This file is typically located on a common network location where all Chemics users can reference it. You can see the chemical files the Chemics is references on the Options dialog -- as shown in the following figure.
Defining Site Chemical File
Set an environment variable CHMX_CHEMISTRY_FILE to be the full path of the site chemistry file by following these steps:
- Right click on Computer (on the desktop or the Start menu) and select Properties from pop-up menu. This dialog is also accessible from the Control Panel → System.
- Select Advanced system settings
- On the Advanced property page, press the Environment Variables button.
- Press the New button in the System Variables (lower) section of the Environment Variables dialog.
- Type the variable name to CHMX_CHEMISTRY_FILE and set the variable value to the full path of the chemistry file.
It's just that easy!
